Warner's cartoon A Wild Hare, directed by Tex Avery, is released. It is considered to be the first true Bugs Bunny cartoon.

1946:

Warner's cartoon The Great Piggy Bank Robbery, starring Daffy Duck and directed by Bob Clampett, is released.

1984:

Purple Rain, Prince's semi-autobiographical movie, premieres.

2003:

At age 100, having won 5 honorary/humanitarian Academy Awards, Bob Hope passes away.
