1956:

Elvis Presley's Love Me Tender is released. Though Presley appeared a year earlier in the documentary Pied Piper of Cleveland, Love Me Tender is considered the beginning of Presley's film career.

1966:

Widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made (this is a permanent resident in IMDb's Bottom 5), Manos, the Hands of Fate, is released.
